Next after Sam Worthington it's Edgar Ramirez making his mainstream debut in the Clash of the Titans sequel? Deadline says that the 33-year-old Venezuelan actor, who was in Domino, The Bourne Ultimatum, Vantage Point, Che and Carlos, has been offered the role of Ares, the God of War, in the upcoming sequel Wrath of the Titans from Legendary and Warner Bros. Apparently Ramirez is "on the verge of making a deal" to star opposite Worthington, so it's his role to take. I'm wondering if they're playing Ares as a bad guy in this sequel or as a helpful new "good guy" God who will guide Perseus on his quest, as we don't know yet.
Warner Bros already set a March 30th, 2012 release date and production begins in a few months in England. Neeson is also back, but other roles have yet to be filled, so I expect we'll be hearing a lot more about this soon. Ramirez is an awesome actor to beef up the cast, looking forward to seeing who else joins.
