Clint Eastwood Set to Direct Beyoncé in Remake of 'A Star is Born'

It's been a while since we had an update on the development of the remake of the 1954 musical A Star is Born (which itself was a remake of the 1937 film of the same name). We'd previously heard that Gerard Butler might be up for the lead male role to star opposite chart-topping singer turned actress Beyoncé after rumors of Russell Crowe's involvement seemed to be false. Now we have big news for the gestating musical though as Deadline reports Clint Eastwood will not only produce the project for Warner Bros., but he will also direct the film from a script by Will Fetters (Remember Me).
