One of the most famous vampires is returning to the big screen. We first caught mention in a since-removed post on Oz website Encore that Alex Proyas' Dracula Year Zero would be shooting next year in Australia, but there wasn't any official confirmation. However, Collider checked in with their own industry sources and confirmed that Universal is aiming to start shooting in June 2011 and that Sam Worthington is indeed attached to play real-life historical figure Prince Vlad of Transylvania, known as the inspiration for Dracula and the main character in Proyas' movie. Make what you will of this new, as Dracula Year Zero is coming. Proyas previously spoke last year about Dracula Year Zero and why it interests him so much: "[It's] both a kind of an ode to Bram Stoker's original Dracula, in that it's kind of a prequel to that, but it also redefines the character to such an extent that I found it quite exciting, so that is very much a kind of reinvention of that character and it's why I got excited about it." Like Frank Miller's "Batman: Year One", Dracula: Year Zero retells the origin of the dark vampire lord known as Dracula.
