Starz confirmed today at the Television Critics Association press tour that the 2nd season of "Spartacus: Blood and Sand" will start shooting this spring for a 2012 premiere.The big question is who will replace the cancer-stricken Andy Whitfield in the title role. Starz says they have not cast the role yet but that the field of candidates is narrowing.
The "Spartacus" prequel, "Gods of the Arena," debuts on Friday, January 21,2011.
